Turkish Airlines Expands Network with Daily Istanbul-Tirana Flights

Istanbul, Turkey – Turkish Airlines announced today the launch of daily direct flights between Istanbul and Tirana, Albania, effective immediately from March 2026. The new route, operated by the airline's modern fleet including the Boeing 737 aircraft, aims to strengthen connectivity between Turkey and the Balkans, catering to growing demand from business travelers, tourists, and the Albanian diaspora. Flights depart Istanbul Airport (IST) at 07:45 and arrive in Tirana International Airport (TIA) at 08:30 local time, with the return leg leaving Tirana at 09:45 and landing back in Istanbul at 12:20.
This expansion underscores Turkish Airlines' aggressive growth strategy, now serving over 300 destinations worldwide as Europe's largest carrier by destination count. Company officials highlighted the route's potential to boost tourism in Albania's coastal regions and cultural sites, while facilitating easier access to Turkey's historic landmarks for Albanian visitors. "We're bridging communities and economies with this vital link," said a Turkish Airlines spokesperson during the announcement at Istanbul Airport.
Passengers can book tickets starting today via the airline's website or app, with introductory fares available for early bookings. The daily service promises enhanced frequency compared to previous seasonal operations, positioning Tirana as a key hub in Turkish Airlines' southeastern European network amid rising regional travel post-pandemic.
